This video was a labor of love. It was produced in about one year, around Lake Chapala in the central highlands of Mexico. Over seventy people were interviewed. Eighteen were selected to be in the video. Many hours of videotaping were done and only 53 minutes made it into the final cut. Some of the remaining footage is being used in subsequent productions that will be coming out soon.
Meet the Filmmaker
Roy Nolan produced this video. He also wrote the script, directed, and videotaped as well. He then spent many days editing and doing other post-production tasks to arrive at the final video.

Margarita Fettweis who did production co-ordination, scheduling and on camera interviewing was born in Mexico City, was an equestrian in the Mexican jumping team and graduated from the American School Foundation. She then studied at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL, worked as a translator in Germany and as an office manager in Los Angeles, Ca, before moving to Hawaii. While living there, she and her husband started and ran the “Poco Loco Cafe”, a Mexican regional cuisine restaurant, on the big Island of Hawaii. They also produced and sold Poco Loco Salsa, ran a B&B, and designed and converted a Matson container into a home.
Eventually she moved to the San Francisco bay area and worked as a caregiver/caretaker before returning home to Mexico.
Jerry Forman who composed and performed the music track for this video started playing music a a very young age. He then played in local bands around his home town of Philadelphia. During that time, he taught special education, for thirty years in a very disadvantaged neighborhood.
After he retired, he moved to Mexico and is now living on the Lakeshore. He has his own band “El Mundo Naturale” and is living his dream, writing songs and playing music for this community.
